I escaped Atlanta, GA at 21 for a month long camping trip in Yellowstone National Park. After 2 weeks I decided to get a job and stayed for the summer. That winter, I thought it would be nice to learn how to ski. My only experience on snow was a single trip to Boone, NC with a friend. I knew after that trip if I could learn how to turn and stop it might be fun. I ended up in Alta, UT that winter and it was the beginning of a 6-year relationship with Alta and YNP. The only threads that carried over from my life in Atlanta were a love for Motorcycles, Bicycles, Photography, and Vintage Cameras.
I realized that I wanted to be a guest more than I wanted to be an employee. As a ski bum and resort employee the chance of me being a guest in anything more than a tent were slim. So I packed up and moved to Boulder, CO. Now here I am, 20 years later, Married to an amazing woman that puts up with me, Mortgaged to the gills, and with two absolutely great kids that make every day worth living.
